Getting To Know Each Other

One of my favorite parts of teaching is that first spark of connection—when a child begins to look to you with trust in their eyes, or when a parent shares a little story about their family that makes you feel like you’ve known each other longer than a few weeks.
Building relationships with young children is a slow and beautiful process. At first, a child might watch quietly, staying close to mom or dad, just taking it all in. And then, one day, you notice their hand slip into yours on a walk, or they call your name across the play yard to “come see!” That’s the magic of trust taking root. It isn’t rushed. It grows day by day, moment by moment, like seeds stretching toward the sun.
With parents, the relationship takes a different shape, but it’s just as important. I know how deeply you want your child to feel safe, seen, and celebrated. That means my relationship with you matters too. We share little victories, laugh over muddy boots or unexpected adventures, and sometimes navigate worries together. In time, we move from polite introductions to a kind of friendship—one where we’re working together to give your child the very best start.
I believe that Creekside isn’t just a program—it’s a community where children, parents, and teachers belong to each other in meaningful ways. Relationships are at the heart of it all.
If you’d like to catch a glimpse of how we build those relationships day to day, I’m opening the gates on September 2nd for a Preview Morning (Click on the link). It’s not the full program—just a simple walk-through of our routine, a peek into our play spaces, and a chance to meet face-to-face. Think of it as a warm handshake to start the journey.
