Where Nature and Play Become Childhood's Main Ingredients
An Early Childhood Nature Enrichment Program

What We Are
Creekside Nature Unschool is an early childhood nature enrichment program designed for children aged three to five, meeting two mornings a week from September through May. Our program takes place primarily outdoors, allowing children to engage with God’s creation while exploring seasons, weather, plant life, and wildlife. Through seasonally focused nature study and observations, inquiry-based play, storytelling, guided activities, and art, children will build self-confidence, foster a sense of community, and cultivate a strong relationship with nature.

Who I Am
My name is Melissa Beager
I am the owner and lead teacher at Creekside Nature Unschool. Over the past 24 years, I’ve worked with children from birth through high school in a variety of caregiving and teaching roles.

Creekside Nature Unschool grew out of a decade-long journey to better support the children in my care. Along the way, I discovered how profoundly nature meets the developmental needs of the whole child—physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually—in ways that human-made environments simply cannot replicate.

Community
At Creekside Nature Unschool, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Our program fosters peer connections through shared outdoor experiences and invites parents to join their children on these adventures. As a family-oriented cooperative, Creekside relies on parent involvement to help the program thrive.
